I just found out that on Mother's Day, Tony and I and Angela are going to Disneyland and have dinner with Carolyn Rolando and their little brood. Should be lots of fun. Love Disneyland, there is so much to see and do there. Well I am celebrating as it has now been almost 9 months since I've been in a hospital. Whoopee...that is so cool. I can only hope that my doctors and of course the Master Physician-Jesus are healing me. I so want to be totally well again. I go to a gym now where I can work out and use their oxyget outlets ...yes I am still on oxygen. I work out and do the stuff that is good for my breathing and of course cardio. Life is so good.

Well, I may not be as exciting as a Jedi Knight, but I have returned. Thanks to King Leo for giving me the right information and heading me off in the right direction, I am back. I haven't bloged since October of 07. Got a new computer and e mail addy. Am now having fun playing in My Space. King Leo, thank you a million times over. If you talk to Teri Yaki or Dr. Lao tell them hi for me. This month makes it 7 months that I've managed to stay out of the hospital. Praise God.!! My doctors are pleased and two of them feel like I may just beat this nasty decease. Well that's it for now. Hope to get out here again. Ta ta.

Its been ages since I've blogged. That is becuase I had nothing to blog about. However take a look to the left and behold!! A flower that has no no name, and no point of origin that I know of. It was a gift given to us 20 yeas ago. I brought it along when we moved and it is thriving. The flower is a perfect star. khaki color with light maroon whiskers on it. the center is very sticky and flies and gnats just love o live in it. It is about 3 feet wide and if anyone wants some I can share . Below the flower are some pods getting ready to open. Tony calls it the body snatcher plant. The Last of Paso Robles for our club

Well, it finally happened. The city of Paso Robles, has made it clear that they no longer want West Coast Kustoms to hold their May 31 cruise there. For 25 years we held it in Paso, They made a ton of money off us. If it were no for our club, Paso Robles would be just another name for a tiny nowhere town in Central Calif. The merchants there doubledthe prices of everything and made some good coin. But if that is the way the town wants it, we are gone. I would love to see the results of the next election for City Council and Mayor. Betcha none of the incumbents gets revoted in. So sadly we bid goodbye to Paso and happily say Hi to Santa Maria.

Gosh, it's been a long time since I've been to my blog site. I have missed it. I miss Dr. Lao and King Leo, guess I will have to try and get into their blog sites. Well the end of a glorious era is here. For the last 15 years, we've been going to the West Coast Kustoms car show that is held in Paso Robles. Just found out yesterday that we will no longer be meeting in beautiful Paso Robles. Seems Paso, has a problem with car clubs, we are a bunch of old farts and cause little or no trouble. However, all is not totally lost, the town of Santa Maria , loves the color of our money and so we will be doing our show there. Should be great. We are really looking forward to it.

LIZARDS CAN SWIM

Meet Kupa...She is a four foot long iguana. She is my daughter's pet. When they were here a few weeks ago, she put Kupa in the pool. That was a trip. She immediately swam to the bottom and remained submerged for about 15 minutes. Angela got a little nervous and pulled her to the surface. Kupa was fine. We found out they like to swim and are able to submerge for long periods of time. Kupa is very docile, very intelligent and yes, she even knows the sound of Angela's voice. She eats, banana's, mellon, collard greens but her favorite is frijoles, yes beans either boiled or fried. She also enjoys sunning herself, sleeping on Angela's bed and is very curious about everything around her. I never knew that lizards were so smart, well, live and learn.

LADY'S HAIR CUT

Well we finally had to do it. Lady our Turkish Angora had to have a haircut. Her fur was so matted and full of fur balls and I couldn't get them out. She seems quite happy being rid of all the fur. She looks wierd, but at least now she can go out at night with us and be comfortable. I am so excited, Leonard and RAchel are coming over today to spend the weekend with us. We love haveing them over as they are so much fun to be with. I told Rachel, be sure to bring your bathing suite. Just hope she did. Have a great weekend.

Butterfly Kises

We saw the butterfly aviary last week. I have never seen so many gorgeous butterflies. This is a picture of a few of them feeding. They put a plastic sponge into a cup of special nectar and the butterflies love it. There are actually four here. I love the balc and yellow striped and the yellow swallowtails. Today is Sat. and I am excited. Old friends, Leonard and Rachel Aguilar are coming out for a visit today. We always enjoy them as they are so much fun to be with. It's quite warm here, but everything is air conditioned. I told Rachel to bring their bathing suites. hope they do. We are looking forward to a blessed weekend. Wow, I finally made it back out here. It's been a while since I've blogged. Damn near lost it trying to figure out my google password and all that stuff. Much has gone on since I was last out here. We are expecting another great grandchild (girl) in Oct. The picture at the left is us with her brother, Benjamin. Taken May 23rd. Our youngest granddaughter, Carolyn is expecting their second child. The little guy here is our precious boy. He is such a cutie. He adores great grampa Tony as he plays with Ben. I now have a decease specialist and we are finding out why I am having so much difficulty in my right lung. I am feeling pretty good, loving the weather and enjoying living in La Quinta.

Well we finally did it. We took our longhair angora cat to the groomer and had her fur shaved. It was so matted and she is to old to groom herself so we have helped her out a little bit.

After seeing the carnage at Virginia Unitversity, I can only wonder ..Where will it all end?
Didn't anyone learn anything from MacDonalds, or Columbine? What is it going to take to get people to sit up and take notice of all the wierd stuff that is happening right here in America. Isn't anyone looking, or observing, do we no longer listen to that gut feeling we get when we know something awful is about to happen in the near future? Teachers can't you see your students? public servants have you no eyes or ears. Regular students, when you hear and see one of your own acting in a morose or withdrawn manner, or if a fellow student makes inuendos of violence don't you believe in questioning it, seeing a teacher or a counselor or even your parents. Are you all so detached from your mom and dad that you won't talk to them when you know there is danger afoot? Americans have become strangers to each other, and many of them have turned thier backs on God. Perhaps we need to start praying in schools again, pehaps we need to allow God back into our lives. I am a 68 year old great grand mother, and I remember praying in school, being able to bring a bible to school, and being free to speak of God. This week is a week of sorrow, grieving and pain. Perhaps we should get out that old bible, dust it off and start reading it. No matter what our faith is, if we believe in God, then we need to turn to Him.

I don't think there is anything sweeter than hugging and loving our numbah one great grandson. He is such a joy to our lives. Carolyn and Rolando brought him by a few weeks ago. We had a great weekend together. We bought the movie "Charlottes Web" for him and he loved it. Imagine this 18 month old tot, understanding and just loving Wilbur the pig and Charlotte the spider. I may just take up embroidering again, so that I can make him a pillow with a picture of Charlotte on her web, with the words Wonderful Benjamin written into the web. Now all I have to do is get the energy to go buy the embroidery threads and of course the throw pillow and material to cover it with and everything MUST be color coordinated. I am anal retentive about Feung Shui (sp) I love color coordination and emotional balance within my boundries, ie home, car, where ever I may abide.

Sooo, I got talked into doing the phone coverage to reach fellow classmates for the 50th reunion of my high school class being held in Sept at the Brookside Country Club. So far it's been fun, and I am talking to folks I haven't seen for 50 years. Gawd that's geezerville !!! And I'm a geezer!!

Heaven help me. I can just see it now. People coming in on walkers, canes, or like me with oxygen. Hey this should be a lively reunion. Oh there I go being morose again. Actually this will be fun. Well !! Finally, I found the time to try to do my humble bit of blogging. Am busy right now as I am helping out with our H.S Class 50th reunion. This on top of so much other stuff. But it is fun. I have missed blogging a lot though. Here is a shot of my daughter Angela. She was here weekend before last. This is her pet, Kupa..a female iguana who is really very intellegent and has bonded with Angela. It was fun seeing them. Watched "24" last night and will watch it again tonight. They are showing it in 2 hour increments then next week it will just be an hour a week. Love Kieffer Sutherland...for a cracker, he's hot. I am not into white boys but he's got it where it counts. Ohhh yeahhh!!!

Check out this beautiful flamingo. The artist is Jennifer, my daughter's 17 year old step daughter. Jenn is a senior in high school, has never had any training in art/painting. She is working on this water color flamingo and background because she saw a picture of one and liked them. We never knew she could draw or paint, her art teacher told Angela and Hugo that Jenn is a natural. I think so too. This girl is good. We are proud of her. Now she wants to pursue her interest in art by going to a good art school when she graduates in June of 07. I sure hope she gets that chance.

Merry Christmas,
This is our very first Christmas in our new home in La Quinta. Tony has decorated the den and this carosel is the latest addition to our Christmas collection. We are almost done with the shopping, and most of the Christmas cards are sent. It's really pretty out here at night ..the people here really go all out and decorate their houses. It's a lot of fun to see as we are driving around at night.

Would you believe that there is actually a real live Tamale Festival in this world? Well there is. Indo, California has been hosting this wonderful festival for 15 years. We went, Tony, Angela and myself. We ate ourselves silly, ate tamales, elotes, tamales, sweet, blue corn
pork, chile and cheese, red chile and beef
we could barely walk back to the car. Not all the tamales were great, some were everything you could expect from Nana's kitchen..a tasters delight, some were ok but too dry while others were not cooked thouroughly enough, thus the massa was a bit mushy. The sweet green tamales were my favorite and Angela and Tony couldn't make up thier minds. Having helped my mother in law make them every Christmas I know how they should taste. Still today was a real culinary delight. Wow !!! Good!!

It's been awhile since I've blogged. Today we saw the movie "Happy Feet" It was really cute, and a very good . . fun .. movie. Love Mumbles. We ate at the Hometown Buffett & came home. The weather is starting to really cool off and it is actually cold at night. I need to be careful and make sure I don't catch any cooties or colds and have an asthma flare up. So far .. so good. Praise God.

Well ..Finally!! I'm able to get a photo to my blog. This is Feather. We had her for 21 years, yes I said 21 and she was already full grown when she came to us. I took her to the vet and he told me she was about 5 or 6 at that time. Like most of our other cats Feather just appeared on our doorstep and stayed. She was a fierce hunter, a hard fighter and a people lover. She died old and full of years about 7 months before we moved. We buried her in a little plot on the side of our old house under a green tree.

A Great Weekend With Great People

Wow, what a fun weekend we had. Tony's cousin Leonard and wife Rachel, spent the weekend with us and we enjoyed seeing them since it has been way too long since we'd seen them last. The guys talked and Rachel and I talked up a storm. We ate dinner at Black Angus, and had breakfast at Elmer's in Indio, their food is awsome and is cooked in a German/European fashion. It is to die for good. Then after that we went to Family Home Store which is a great place to pick up fantastic bargains, Rachel and I went bananas over all the goodies on sale, like crystal, china, furniture bedding , jewelery, Christmas stuff, you name it, we saw it and bought some too. We hated to see them leave. We hope to get together with them again soon. A good time was had by all.

Thursday & Friday We were at Disneyland with Carolyn,Rolando and Benjamin our Great Grandson. He's now 15 months old and is amazing to watch. He has no fear of the big characters of Disneyland, he loves to see everything. He is so much fun to watch as the little guy is a show all by himself. What a trip to watch this kid interact with all sorts of people, of course mommy and daddy are right there too. He loves Pirates of the Carabean, so do I . We had a ton of fun and hope to be able to do it again next year. Here is a shot of him with Timone, the meerkat from Lion king. He also met Dale and goofy. It was a blast. We had so much fun. I thank God that we have been blessed with a great grandson. We also have a wonderful great grandaughter who I will do a story on later.

Today is Tony's birthday. We are having his party tomorrow here in La Quinta, but our son Anthony can't do it tomorrow so he came over today, He made Bar B Q'ed Spareribs, baked beans, salad and baked potatoes with sour cream & chive. Tieramisu cake will be desert. The cards and gifts have been arriving. I gave him a telescope (last month) and a pair of Rayban Wayfarer sunglasses from the cats (today). Tomorrow our granddaughter & her family and our daughter Angela and her brood will all be over to home made enchiladas, rice and beans. yum yum. Can't hardly wait. It's been a great day. Now to go watch the Meerkat Family then eat cake.

If you ever get up to central Calif., there is a little town there called Paso Robles. We go there every May for the big car show with our club. We eat breakfast at this restuarant. They are only open for breakfast & lunch. Everything is cooked from scratch and is totally fresh. This is home cooking at it's finest. "Touch of Paso" is truly a taste of Paso. One of the things we look forward to mostly is our breakfasts there. Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is so homey and it's like being at grandma's house for a great meal.

Meerkats, I LOVE Em

Saw the new Meerkat Manner Series last night. Even though I miss little shakespear, I just love Flower, and the whiskers clan. There are two new groups on the scene now, the Lazeli and the Commandos. It's a fight for survival, but those little guys know how to move like an army. They're cheeky little guys, but cute as can be. If you are an animal lover like me, then you can appreciate where I'm coming from. Found out that there is a Meerkat habitat up in the Morongo Valley, public are allowed to go visit and see them and if we adopt one (contribution), we are allowed to actually hold them let them untie our shoe laces, and look in our pockets, and in general just enjoy them. So, now I am working on Tony to take a trip to see them. I think he will 'cause he really likes them too. They are small, an adult is 12 inches high, the babies are only two inches long when they are allowed to come out of the burrow to learn how to forage and hunt for food. but they are brave litte guys and will fight to the death to protect the clan. I just love them. Got a case of Meerkat Fever.

As most of my online buddies and regular friends know, I am a devoted fan of The Meercat Family, shown on animal planet every Friday night. It's almost like watching a soap opera, seriously, I am so into those little guys, I know their names, and their story. My favorite is little Shakespear. He's brave, and kind and intelligent. When they went off for the summer, Shakespear was missing because he had been protecting the Meercat babies, Flower's brood. They had been attacked by the Langeli clan (another group of Meerkats). When Flower and the others returned from feeding, the babies were there but Shakespear was missing. The announcer said be sure to tune in again on 9/29 and find out Shakespear's fate. Now we are being told that because this is shot in the wild, there is no interfering by mankind. So if Shakespear is missing, then why tell us to be sure we see what his fate was. The producers of the show say they don't know the answer. Well !!! That sure was a rude awakening. I am so bummed because obviously Shakspear won't be back this season. Boooo Hissss

Friday in the Cove

Today we spent at the movies. We saw Flyboys which was really good. Then we drove over to the IMAX theater and saw Pirate of The Carbean 2 in IMAX ..Wow what a difference to see it on the big screen. Yesterday I found a shawl that my husbands Tia Tensia made me when Tony & I were newlyweds. It is so pretty, I am going to have it cleaned then take a picture of it to send to my favorite Cuz, King Leo. I love his crocheting, it is so beautiful. Saw the Dr. yesterday and found out that I supposedly have a decease called Mycobacterium Aviuem Complex in my lungs now. They call it Mac for short. I will not receive that, and am already being prayed for and as far as I am concerned , I am healed!!! Oh I have attached a photo of my daughter Angela and my husband Tony. Cute huh??

Thunderheads in Arizona at Sunset-Beautiful

Today is Saturday. We've been home a week from Ariz. I sure do miss those awsome sunsets. Still I am glad to be back home. Tomorrow we are going to a car show in South Pasadena, my home town, then from there to my son's house for dinner. He's going to be showing his 61 custom caddy. The weather here is cooling off, today was only 86 and tonight is about 75. Seems weird after all the hot weather to have it so cool and mild. The snow birds are flocking back into the valley, and the trailer and Rv parks are filling up fast. They will stay until spring then migrate back to their home states. They are good for our economy here in the Coachella Valley. Winters here are like summer to them. Well I need to go to bed so I can get up at the butt crack of dawn to take off to the car show.

We are back! What a great trip it was and so relaxing. We drove up into the canyon above Sedona, and it is amazing, but a miracle that not one home was lost and the fires didn't burn out the highway. We are so thankful for that. Got lots of new stuff for the house and ate at some great restuarants. Here is a photo of "snoopy" rock, can you see snoopy and woodstock just to your left below the big rocks. Ya gotta look hard though. We sure do love Sedona and Oak Creek. But it is good to be home.

Like Jar Jar Binks said in Starwars "Wesa going home!" Yes...We're going back to our beloved Ariz. for a week. I am so excited, we're leaving Sat. morning. Angela and her boyfriend Hugo will be house sitting for us. It's been a year since we've seen Sedona and Oak Creek. They tell me the fires in the canyon took their toll on the forest and the road up into the canyon is shut down. But there are lots of other things to do and one of them is we are going to take our friend Audrey out to dinner as her birthday is next week. We will eat at the Casino steak house there and maybe just maybe have a shot at the slot machines. The picture on the left here is taken at courthouse rock which is just above the creek. It's a very pretty view and has been the subject of many paintings and photographs. Will be back in a week or so.

At Last, Thank God, I Finally Got To My Blog Page

Been trying for two days to get to this page. Found out what the problem was and for once, it was not me. We have Time Warner Cable out here. Therein was the problem. So I'm Baaaaaack. Tony and I saw a movie today that I will never forget. It was about the attack on the twin towers on 9/11/01 When the movie was over, you could hear a pin drop in that theatre. I was numb with pain and anger. I lost two old friends who were in building number 2. We had worked together 14 years ago. I was their adm.,assist. They died in that World Trade Center disaster. I got home and then I looked at my favorite picture shown here, and I realized that no matter how horrible those terrorist groups are, Jesus gave his life for them as well as for me. Still, I have a hard time with terrorism. Guess I still have so much to learn about the God I serve. Hope I am not to old to learn.

Why Do Some Days Suck???

Last week I bought a few items on Ebay. I always pay right upfront with paypal. Two of the people came back with great feedback. Why not, I paid immediately. But the third one, I never heard a word. Wed., his/her item arrived, I liked the way it looked and was shipped, you know all the usual bullshit. So I gave this butthole a favorable feedback. By Friday I decided to send an e thru ebay asking if the person would leave feedback or not. No reply, so a few hours later I tried again. They came back with so much attitude I just said forget it, told em what jerks they are. The jerk went out and left the nastiest feedback - but did it in neutral so that I couldn't acuse him/her of using feedback to get at me. Of course that is exactly what he/she was doing. I've learned a lesson, if I don't see 100% positive by their name, I won't buy from em. I am sooooo pissed and bummed. The person is from the deeeep south and can't spell worth a damn. Guess I got me a redneck. That won't happen again. Not to this little old Mexican Lady.

Ditto & Kuppa Meet At Last

Sunday Evening. Angela and Kuppa have gone home. They visited us this weekend and this time Ditto my little gray cat was here and he met Kuppa the Iguana. They didn't do much but posture and try to out do eachother in looking all mean and bad. Finally Ditto decided it wasn't worth it so he headed back for the house. We all had a nice time. Saw the movie Barnyard, it was so cute. Angela really enjoyed it as she likes all the kiddy and cute stuff. I do too for that matter. We then ate at the Hogs Breath inn . I think the waiter liked Angela because he really gave her special treatment. Even got her a container of their very tasty cream chili sauce and said it was a gift. That was so nice. We came home and ate two containers of Ben and Jerry's Cherries Garcia...Yum yum.

This is but another glimps into our life here in La Quinta. My husbandTony is a collector of Mickey Mouse Everything. One of our guest rooms has Mickey Mouse from top to bottom and even on the bed. If you come over here feeling bummed, I guaranty that after about 5 minutes in this room, and listening to the music boxes you will come away with a different point of view. We did some shopping today. Went to Trader Joes and got a few things. Love thier potatoe salad and salt free chips. Also they have great vegetables and fresh fruit, and I love their floral bouquets. Their fresh food is pure, no additives. I like that. Eggs are only 99cents a doz.
I love their fish especially their cod and salmon. It's not real hot today, only about 102 deg. but a nice wind. We love the desert. Our neighbor just got back from San Francisco, he and his wife ran a marathon there. They enjoyed a break from the heat, but hell, they've lived here for 20 years. We just moved in. Saw the movie Ant Bully in Imax/3D it was darling, love those ants. It was also awsome in Imax and 3 d. Ate dinner at Marie Calandars. Love their salad bar and corn bread. Yum Yum.

Gosh it seems like forever since I last Blogged. So, what do you think of Mel Gibson's Faux Pas? I can't help but feel sorry for him as I am a recovered alcholic myself. Been clean and sober now for over 25 years. It's not easy either. It's a tough road and the liquor ... monkey is hard to get off your back. I guess some people have an easier time of it but I find that hard to believe. I hope he gets some help. What a huge disappointement that must be to his family and friends. Not to mention how he must feel. I thank God that I am free from it. But it is still a never ending battle with temptation.

A Desert Sunset Makes It All Worthwhile

Last night as the sun was setting on a very hot desert, I caught this concert of colors and hues in the desert sky. Sometimes a sunset is so beautiful it almost hurts. You don't want it to change or leave, then, in a few minutes its gone for another day. This is the view from our back yard each evening. Then the sky fills up with stars that shine like billions of diamonds on black velvet. I love living here. So what if it is 118 deg during the day, it's clean, it's clear it's colorful and it is God showing his beauty in His artwork. His creation. Wow!!!

What a lovely day today. I got to the hairdresser finally! Got my hair cut and styled. We then drove over to Costco to pick up a few things. Now we are back in the casa where it's cooler. Today has been a little cooler, around 107 deg. I am glad it's cooling down because the fires out here are horrific, and with the heat, it is so hard on those firefighters. There are two big fires burning on the north side of the 10 freeway in the high desert. One is nearly contained and the other is not. Then the other night we had an interesting display of lightning. King Leo explained that it is common in Miami. I was amazed as I've never seen lightning go in circles like that. It was spooky and wierd. Don't think I'd care for Miami in a rain storm. I love my cuz, King Leo, he always explains things to me and sort of helps me put my own stuff in perspective. Love Ya Cuz. Check out the flower, It's for you King Leo from me.

Thursday...Meet LadyBugs Our Turkish Angora

Everyone has seen and met Furgus, and Ditto, but no one has met LadyBugs. She is an odd eyed, white Turkish Van or Angora. We got her when she was just about 6 months old. She is almost 14 years now. She's a purebred, but the people that owned her just wanted to give her a good home, so we got her. So far she has outlived Pepe, Ginger, and Furgus. I just hope she doesn't outlive Ditto. Can't help it he is my favorite. Lady is a sweetie, but she's kind of deranged and imagines she sees stuff that just ain't there. But she is loveable and we do love her. She is a good girl and never makes a mess or fusses a lot. She has a thing about licking plastic so I have to keep her away from all plastic, bags, etc. She's addicted to it. She loves to groom ditto, andspends a lot of time mothering him. She's a really a sweet cat. Also she has one blue eye, and one green eye. kinda wierd but interesting to look at. Her tail is her pride as it is a banner that she holds high. She can jump nearly 7 feet straight up in the air. Turkish Vans are fun cats.

Check out this wild paint job. My son sent me some photos of a car show he went to. I love this "ride" On the very middle of the hood is a picture of an American Indian Chief. It's so cool. Well I spent a nerve wraking day and a half tring to install via download from the "net" It was a real cluster f--- Finally yesterday, I got it done. Whoever said it is easy to download Norton from Symantec, LIED!!! It was a nightmare. When I have to update in two years, I'll hire a geek to do it for me. Thank God I am up again and fully protected now. Boy, the Lord really does answer our prayers. See Ya.

It's Saturday morning, just had breakfast, Anthony our son is visiting us. It is another hot day here, about 112deg. We don't mind it at all. Last night we bar be que'd steaks, and man was that great. Today we're going to see the movie Cars. Tony and I have seen it, but Anthony hasn't so we're taking him. We really loved that movie. It's worth watching a few times. But I may sneak off and go see the Devil Wears Prada. Really want to see that as it is a true story, just the names changed to protect the innocent. I love Meryl Streep, and she will be great as the evil editoress in chief. Also am looking forward to Pirate s of the Carabean and Click. There are some really cool movies coming out this summer...Love it. Just love it. I think we may have finally found a church out here that we can get plugged into. We really miss our old church back in S.G. Valley. Keep your fingers crossed that this will be the one. I found this picture and took a photo of it. Isn't it great? I love the tenderness and love that the little lamb is feeling from the Lord. What a cool picture of Gods love for us, all of us. Wow !!! Saw A Great Movie. Change in Blog Schdule

Tony and I saw The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. (can't spell his name). It is a great movie with a great story line and of course it is a mystical love story, which is right down my alley. Now I am waiting to See the next Pirates of the Caribean with Johhny Depp, and then "The Devil Wears Prada" with Meryl Streep. Believe it or not, this flick is a true story with fictional names. It is a tell all about the editor in chief of Vanity Fair Magazine. Her Secretary/assitant supposedly snitched and wrot the book. I guess the Editor was a real baracuda much like the infamous Leona Helmsely (whom I just love). There are a few other movies that I want to see also but can't think of the names just now. Also, this is to let whoever sees my blog that I won't be doing a whole lot of blogging any more. At least that is how I am figuring right now. I will still blog now and then, but I have decided that if I am going to get anywhere in my walk with the Lord, then I need to get my butt off this computer and my nose into my bible and spend more time in His presense. I need His direction and guidance and I needto spend more time in my prayer closet in His presense while He ministers to me .. especially in the areas of healing, finding a new church home here in the desert and learning more about what He wants me to do in His name. I went to a wonderful healing class this last Saturday and Jesus really met all of us in a powerful way. But I love you and if I can ever pray for you, just let me know.

I found this neat photo of the river at Laughlin, Nev. We were there last year and I had taken some pictures and forgot about them. Tonight when I was really cleaning out my computer I came across them. The river's lots of fun, and going riding on a seadoo on the river is a blast. Then there is the night life in Laughlin, and gambling and great food. We had a lot of fun when we went and I remember winning $150.00 that weekend, big stuff for me. I don't gamble much .. so I don't win usually. This time I was really lucky. We had never been to Laughlin but this was for a car show and our son Anthony wanted us to join him there. It was fun, but Laughlin is rather hot and humid in August.

Ok, I'll give it another shot. Messed up the first one. This last weekend my daughter Angela and her pet igauna .. Kupa came to visit. Kupa is 6 years old about 3 feet long and is a lot of fun to watch. She's quite tame and loves to be petted and bathed. The cats were not too sure about her, but they left her alone. Guess her size was a bit intimidating and she can take care of business if the occasion calls for it. It was so nice to see Angela and to have her spend Father's day here with her dad. We all had a great time. Had supper at Stuart Anderson's Black Angus. Boy was that ever great!!! I have been so busy lately that I've not had much of a chance to do any blogging. Will have to try to be a little more diligent.

Seems we have a new friend now. A new hummingbird is using the feeder. He is quite friendly and seems to enjoy being around people, in fact he likes to fly up to our face and stare at us. I can get up close to him and he keeps on eating. He has no fear at all. Hope he sticks around. He is so cute. We are really getting a kick out of him.

Yesterday, Monday, Our granddaughter Carolyn and her son Ben, spent the day with us. Ben is now 11 months old and is a water baby. He loved the pool and playing in the water. Got a feeling he will be learning to swim really soon. it was so much fun seeing them again. When we took them back home we stopped and ate at Marie Calandar's. Got the greatest salad and cornbread. Yum. Ben had fun dropping food all over the place. Needless to say we gave the waitress a nice tip. She really was a nice lady. A great day was had by all.

What a great day, we got a lot done!! I just got this photo of Laughlin at the River, so thought I'd share it. Tony and I went out and shopped and had the best lunch at the Thai Smile Restaurant. They have the most remarkable Thai Food I have ever eaten. We pigged out on Mi-Krob, pad thai, rice, salad, and Thai tea. I'll tell you, this may be the desert, but they have some awsome restaurants here. Now that the snowbirds have gone home, we don't have to wait, there are no lines and the living is soooooooo good. But the snowbirds are always welcome, they bring in a lot of revenue and they are really nice folks.

What a great surprise, Angela came out Sat. and stayed until today. Now i am glad that I didn't go to Paso Robles, I got to spend time with my wonderful daughter, we laughed and talked and shopped. Yes I took my oxygen tank with me, we hit all the 99 cent, Big lots, and The Factory to U stores and shopped till we dropped. Last night, we all went to Stuart Andersons Black Angus where I had lobster (the best ever) and Tony and Angela had prime rib and grilled shrimps. The food was so awsome. I really did slip off my diet for this one. After dinner they went for a hike on the trails about the house and I stayed in the car and took pictures of the sunset. Having Angela around is so theraputic, we are so close and she is not just a daughter but is my best girlfriend in the world. We share secrets, and laugh and do each other's facial waxing and make up..When I went to bed early last night, she sat up with Tony and watched movies, one of them was Memoirs of a Geisha. She left it for me to see. I really have wanted to see that movie. She is on her way home now and will calle me when she gets home. All in all it has been a great weekend, and I am so blessed by my family.

Out of the Hospital

Well, we didn't make it to Paso Robles for the big car show as I just spent a day and a half in the hospital. I am home now, and very disappointed as we are not at the show. I look forward to that in a big way. Hopefully I will make it next year. Tony doesn't really mind if we go or not, I am the one who is into the car show and the club. I love the 50's and this is what it's about. Talked to my son Anthony this morning, he is already there and getting ready for the big cruise night tonight. i am bummed. But thankful that I am out of the hospital. So now my next big hope is looking forward to visiting Sedona, AZ in Sept. This picture is taken at one of my favorite spots in the famous red rock country of Sedona. At least I have that to look forward to. Tony loves this trip so I am hoping my health holds and gets better so that we can go for a week.

THE QUEST TO HEAL DITTO IS ON

Recently, about 3 weeks ago, we found out that Ditto our little grey cat also has feline leukemia. Our vet started him on interferon on a bi-weekely basis. Lately, since I've been a little ill myself, I began to search the internet in a quest to know more about this decease and to find out if there is a way to beat this damned thing before it kills him. Right now the decease is latent, but it can become very deadly in a heartbeat. So now I am studying everything I can find and there is a lot of good stuff out there. I especially am encouraged by J. Truman who kept his cat Nicky alive for 15 years using a variety of holistic (herbal) and medical methods. One of them is the use of AZT 20 mg three times a day and 300,000 units of rh-INF every other day by injection. Plus a very interesting blood platlet separation and then refusion into the animal. I will need a feline speciality vet, one who is willing. I figure that we used animals to help those who are hiv positive, and those very methods and drugs have been known to help cats go into complete remission. I don't know what this is going to cost or if I can even afford it .. but damn it .. I am going to give it one hell of a try. I just cant let Ditto go without a fight. I failed Furgus, I am not going fail again.

Yesterday.We went to see The Davince Code. The book was far superior to the movie. Tony enjoyed the movie as he hasn't read the book, but I read the book and felt like there was so much missing and half the charactores didn't live up the the book characters, Oh Well. at least we got to see it. But like I said the book was really far better. My daughter Angela said she's going to finish the book and skip the move. Good ideal.. Today I am down with a wierd 24 hyr tummy flu, you know, living on gator ade and spending more time in the john worshiping the porcealn goddess. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

May 16, 2006 Tony Built Me a Fountain

Tuesday May 16th. It's 105 deg. here but we love it. It's dry desert heat. Tony built a fountain for our back yard and it is so pretty. The birds are drinking out of it too as they are so thiraty. Poor little things. We are getting a bird bath and it should be delivered this week. Had a great mom's day, Tony gave me 1 doz red roses, perfume, took me out to dinner and then to see Posiden. It was a good movie, lots of action and loads of computer generated scenes, but the story line left much to be desired. I really liked Richard Dreyfuss, and Kurt Russell ... they kept the story alive. I guess I am being picky, but I like to know all the why's and whatfor's and this picture did none of that. Still in IMAX it was pretty awsome. So we got our money's worth. Besides, I still have DaVince Code, and X-Men The last Stand to look forward to...ok, Ciao for now.

Well last night we decided to do the Palm Spring Cruisin Car show and believe it or not we won for the best in our catagory. Wow. That was fun, 'cause we seldom ever win. I think in 15 years we ahave only won7 time. We go just to have fun see the other cars and meet nice people. So we were shocked and surprised to see that we actually won something. There were other very nice classic old chevy's there, but we won it. Wow. Not bad, gues the old girl still has it in her. She's a great car.

Furgus Is Home

Last night at 10 pm we picked up Furgus' ashes at the Emergancy Clinic. They had his ashes in this nice little cedar box with a lock and a key. When we got home, I place his ashes, a memorial candle, his little collar & name tag along with the kitty angel they gave us and now we have a beautiful little memorial to our beloved cat Furgus. It's been two weeks and one day now and we still feel a huge pain. But we are comforted that our Furgus is here with us at home. I know his spirit is in heaven just next to the Rainbow Bridge. He will be waiting for Tony and me and of course his little brother Ditto. Ditto is doing fine and we are treating him. Oddly, he seems to sense Furgus when he sniffs the little box. Last night for the first time Ditto didn't cry all night. Makes one wonder doesn't it?

We took Ditto to the Vet for a full check up and a Feline Leukemia Test. The test showed positive. Ditto is infected. I nearly lost it in the vets office, but he told us that the decease is at this time very remote, it is there but it's very much in the infant stage, and it could stay dormant for the rest of his life, but it could also become full blown within a year. So he is being given Interferon Treatments on a bi-weekly basis. One week on, One week off. This is be for 6 months, then the Vet will examine him again. Interferon is what is used to build up and strengthen the immune system. Also I am ordering a very good product off the internet. It has a great track record, and we are going to use it. I do not intend to let my little boy go without a fight. We made mistakes with our beloved Furgus, you can bet that it will not happen again!!! We're gonna fight this thing and pray it right into perdition!!! Right now, Ditto is in great health, he eats like a little piggy, plays and has even gained a little weight. We are encouraged by his great health at this time, that is a positive plus on his side. Thank God.

Well Tomorow is the big day, Ditto is getting a full physical and bloodwork done. He is truly my little guy, he loves to play "fetch" he will chase a wad of paper, retrieve it, drop it at our feet so that one of us can throw it for him to re-fetch. I've had him since he was 6 weeks old, he is four years old now and a huge part of me. Tony and I are determined to do all that we can for our two remaining cats and that includes be on guard for their health. A cat can't tell you when it's ill or hurt, so I have to be observant and watchful. I've learned over the years to tell any negative symptoms. So far Ditto has shown none except that he is grieving for Furgus his adopted brother.

FINE 56 - She's Ready for Paso Roble In May

Well we went to the party tonight and stayed for a little while. It was ok but nothing to write home about. Anyway Tony wanted to get back to work on our 56 Chevy Hard Top Bel Aire. We are going to the Memorial Day Cruise in Paso Robles, with our car club, West Coast Kustoms. Been doing this for 15 years now. It's a lot of fun. Paso opens up the town, we cruise the main street just like in the 50's there are around 500 old 50's & 60's cars that are there, the next day we park our cars in the big park in Paso, and for two days just hang out with old friends, eat, check out cars and do some shopping. Our son Anthony goes too, he shows his latest creation, this time it is a 61 Caddy that looks awsome. I love this cruise and I love Paso Robles, it is so beautiful up there. It is a great get away for us. Plus I can take in the antique shops and shop in the afternoon. There is a 50's dance Sat. night or a concert in the park. What ever your choice is. It is a chance to return to our teen years for a little while, when life was good. The 50's. Yeah!

Now I can't upload pictures from my albums. What next??? This time I know I didn't do anything wrong, I guess it's just a glitch somehwere in cyberspace. Oh well at least it is not a total loss today. Tony and i went out to lunch then we went to the movies and saw Sentinel with Keiffer Sutherland, Michael Douglas and Kim Bassinger. It was a pretty good movie, of course I am a sucker for Keiffer Sutherland. He's about the only white boy that I think is cute, as most everyone knows I prefer the dark, Latin types, like the one I married. We met our next door neighbor, Sonny, who lives to the left of us. He invited us to his party tonight to meet the neighborhood, so we were gonna go. I don't know how long Tony will want to stay, but I love parties. Even though we don't drink I still have a lot of fun, plus free food?? You betcha. I'll be there with bells on. They are going to have a DJ and dancing so it should be fun. Just hope Tony will want to stay for a while.

It's been over a week since Furgus died. Here he is in a Halloween Picture with Ditto who is on the chair. Ditto is my other little boy, he and Furgus were close brothers. Now Ditto wanders the house howling and meowing constantly. He's looking for big brother Furgus. I am begining to wonder if perhaps Ditto is getting sick. He's been tested for Feline Leukemia as have all my cats (I only have two now). But Feline Leukemia can show up when the cat is up to 7 years old. Even though they have their shots they can still get it. That sucks doesn't it? I have found a site on the internet though under Feline Leukemia.com - I found it today. They have a holistic cure for this decease. I was too late for Furgus but I won't hesitate to get it for Ditto now that I know about it. Ditto is going to the bet this Monday for full checkup and blood work. I just hope and pray that he gets a clean bill of health.

Today I met my girlfriend Mary Ann. We went shopping on El Paseo Dr. (the deserts answer to Bev. HIlls Rodeo Dr), First we went to Aveda Shop where I got some of their wonderful skin cream and a jar of their Carabean skin exfoliation cream. Then we ate at Thommy Bahama's and had some wonderful Coconut dipped Shrimp. fried in Olive Oil and Asian cole slaw, and Mango Ice Tea. Then it was on to Chico's where Mary Ann bought a darling denim jacket with lots of glitz on it and it just matched her levi's perfectly, Cost her $200.00 that is a little too rich for my blood, I am just a retired stiff and have to watch my pennies. But I love to look at the clothes, talk about eye candy...ooooh yeah...Mary Ann has got the bling so hey, more power to her. I am happy for her, she worked hard for her money, she deserves to pamper herself now and then. If I had the cash I'd be shopping at Chico's, Vuiton, Gucci and Aldo. As it is, I have a passion for expensive perfume and I do have every major fragrance that is out there. So I am a happy camper...We had a fun day, she brought me home and we talked to Tony as he was working on the 56. He's getting in ready for the car show next month. I love that show too. It' s lot of fun. Well I guess I 'll retire for the night. Ciao.

25 April....O mi God, I finally found my posting page, it just appeared out of no where. I do not know what is going on, but will stay on for the ride. I have a sinking feeling that my old nemisis is back and has found me again. Woe is me...I am doomed if He has. He has a huge pet dragon that kills and eats. He is a destroyer of computers because he is the ultimate hacker. He cannot be stopped. He is evil and of the vilest order of creatures. I am glad he doesn't know where we live. Maybe I should turn him in the the authorities. Oh well, I guess it is best to leave well enough alone. I am still grieving over the death of Fergus. It has been 6 days now. Tomoroww he will be cremated, then next Wed. we will pick up his ashes. This is so hard and hurts so much. Fergus...I want you back. I miss you, Daddy and Ditto miss you terribly. We love you Fergus and we always will

It's been 4 days now since we had to put our beloved Furgus to sleep. His brother Ditto (shown here) misses him and calls for him. Ditto is my baby, Furgus was dads pal , but both cats loved us equally. Ditto is the same age as Furgus, he is the love of our lives now that Furgus is gone. Before we shared the love. Cats are very aware of our feelings and they see into our thoughts minds and souls. They can tell what we are thinking when they want to. But sometimes thier wisdom comes into play and they would rather not know what we are thinking. Ditto is a great comfort to us. We are glad that we have him and of course Lady Bugs our Odd Eyed White Turkish Angora. I hate losing a beloved pet. They're our kids, we adore them and we treat them like our kids. They give us pleasure in their unconditional love and adoration. I almost feel at times that I would rather be with my animals then with people. People just hurt you, your pet, will only love you and love you and love you. People do not do that unless they are your parents and even then they can fall short. Yes. God and animals do love us better than people do.

Last night was rough ..We had to put Furgus our big black halloween cat to sleep. He was incurably ill with feline leukemia. It was heart and gut wrenching, but we stayed with our little boy until he breathed his last breath. He died in our arms, wept all night long. Our other two cats, Ditto and Lady know that something is amiss and they are both under the bed and won't come out. It's hard & it hurts like hell.

Great Day in the Morning, Angela our daughter arrived last night. We sat outside and watched the moon and stars come up in the desert sky. It was so cool. She will be with us until Sat. then she has to head back home to get ready for Easter Sunday at Tia Frances House.
Today we are going to show her the sights and take her over to Palm Springs. I think this weekend is the Gay Guys White Party which is so much fun and so very cool as it raises money to fight aides and other horrific deceases. I hope it is this weekend as I would like to attend the festivities.
Tonight we will go out to dinner at Mr. Fish...it's a ritzy restuarant, but they can really do fish up right. I love lobster tails soooo...ya just know I am gonna eat lobster tonight. It's starting to get really hot now, we just love it. the hotter the better bring it on.

Wow, What a great weekend this is turning out to be. Our son Anthony came to visit us last night and spend the weekend with us. Like Leo, Anthony is an awsome cook, so far he's been cooking up a storm. Tony Anthony and me went to the OldTown LaQuinta Art Faire, it was great, bought a few neat things, then he took us to lunch then we hit the streets again. I just love to look and browse, I seldome buy anything, but this time I did like a couple of pairs of earrings and so Tony bought them for me. i am so excited, being a newbie at blogging, I get jazzed when King Leo goes out of his way to do me a kindness and he never says a word to me about my lack of ability, he just encourages me and jsut gives me so much hope. I actually believe I can do this thing. Thanks to him and also thanks to Teriyaki Says I got up the guts to try to learn how to become a blogger. I don't think I could have done it withou Leo and of course the Lord. What a great day this is.

We hadto do a car show in San Gabriel, it was cold, smoggy and yucky. We stayed about an hour then went to visit Tony's mom Hilary then came home to La Quinta....Yay...there is no place like home.

Tues.4th of April-06 Pneumonia !!! Still ??

Got the results of my chest Xrays taken yesterday. My Dr. told me today that my right lung still has pneumonia in the lower part and there are traces in the left lung. Damn !!! Hey it just goes to show ya, pneumonia shots don't mean a thing, however, we think I've had this bug for several years and have jut learned to live with it until it rears it's ugly head when my imune system is low. I remember several years ago King Leo telling me "Arlene you have had a plethora of illnesses this last year" By the time we did all the packing and moving and unpacking here in La Quinta, I was really done in and complete with a bacterial infection on top of it all. I was quarantined in a hospital room for 5 days untill they figured out what kind of infection I had. But I am not going to let this get me down. I will fight it. I have a great holistic gal who is helping me a lot and also my dr. said I only need the oxygen when I am sleeping or if I get really tired. I am so much better now and feel so much better as opposed to a few weeks ago. I thank God for His mercy and grace. I know I am being healed. Got lots of great friends and prayer warriors interceding for me. I even am back to washing, vacuming, cooking, etc. I love it and I thank God. My husbandTony has been my main stay and caregiver. I am such a lucky woman to have such a wonderful man for my husband. I wish all my single friends could find a man as wonderful as mine. That would make me so happy.

Feeling better each day. It has been almost a month since I got out of the hospital in early March. I came home feeling pretty beat and very tired. Then I met Linda, she is a holistic healer. She started me on a very strict diet, no bread or anything with yeast in it, not even a tortilla gasp.... no dairy food, no sugar or sweetner, no caffiene, no red meat . I can have fish, chicken, or turkey and all the vegi's I desire , eggs, and tofu substitues, and I have found a health food market where I can get everything I need and like. I use Stevia for my sweetner and it's great. Plus I have lost 13 pounds (a fringe benefit). It is amazing, my energy is picking up, I feel that the asthma is starting to be less and my breathing is getting much better. I just love feeling better each day. I will have to stay on this diet now as I want to see the outcome. Believe me, 3 weeks ago, I hated it. But now I feel like I am loving life again. Yippee

I don't know why I keep psting blogs, no one seems interested. Oh well, I'd like to introduce one of my cats, his name is Ditto. We have 3 cats and we call them the kids. Actually we have two boys and one girl. The boys are Ditto and Furgus. They are always trying to establish male dominance. Why do males do that? Guess it's a territorial imperative. Oh well. Just a guy thing. Not for me to try and figure out. I wonder if anyone ever reads my blogs, I am beginning to think not. Hohum....Back to the E mail I guess.
